Between July 25-27, the following three projects were entered for the “Shanghai Science and Technology Award, 2011”; The Integration Application of the Green Building Technology System of Shanghai World Expo Permanent Pavilions; The Integration Application of BIPV (Building Integrated Photovoltaic) Technology System of Shanghai World Expo Permanent Pavilions; and The Daylight and Clouds Are Imaged in Huangpu River ― Looking Back at the Expo Centre of World Expo 2011, Shanghai China. Each was able to offer a telephone defence ad well as a spot defence.

On July 27, amid sweltering temperature of 37 degrees celcius, Board Chairman Dai Liu visited the Logistics Centre of the Group’s Logistics Company. Besides bringing heat-relieving products, Mr. Dai extended his warm regards to the front-line employees, bidding them to take care of themselves and rest well.

On the afternoon of July 26, the Second Session of Shanghai Expo Co., Ltd’s First Board Meeting was convened.

On July 20, the Expo Group convened a symposium on human resources and dissemination of work over the second half of the year.

On July 19, the Expo Group convened their trade and logistics enterprises at a symposium to discuss the next half year’s proposed work.

On July 18, the Expo Group held an investigation and research symposium to discuss the next half year’s work with conference and exhibition companies.

In accordance with the work schedule arranged by the Municipal Government, Shanghai Municipal Auditing Bureau will, from the end of July to September, conduct a 2008-2010 economic accountability audit of the Expo Group. The audit will cover various aspects of the enterprise’s operation and development including; observance of the state’s fiscal and economic systems; key operating decisions; actuality of assets and liabilities; internal control and governance; and anti-corruption practice.

On the eve of the 90th anniversary of the Communist Party of China, several party branches and members of the Expo Group have won honorary titles at municipality, commission, and district level. Shanghai Foreign Service Co., Ltd (SFSC) has won the title of “Outstanding Grass-roots Party Organization of Shanghai”; Sheng Li, Party Branch Secretary from Nokia Siemens Networks Transport Systems (Shanghai) Co., Ltd has won the honorary title of “Outstanding Party Affairs Worker for new economic organization and new social organization of Shanghai”. The CPC Party Committee of SFSC, the General Party Branch of the Modern International Exhibition Co., Ltd, and the Party Branch of SABIC Innovative Plastics (Shanghai) Co., Ltd, have all won the title, “Outstanding Grass-roots Party Organization of the Shanghai Municipal State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission”; Zhou Wei, Liu Chunlai and Yao Jun have all won the title of “Outstanding Communist Party Member of the Shanghai Municipal State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission”; Bi Quanjun has won the title “Outstanding Party Affairs Worker for the Shanghai Municipal State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission”. Sun Jianxiong has won the title of “Pioneer Communist to Strive for Excellent Performances in Jing’an District”.

On June 27, the Expo Group held a conference and a cultural & artistic performance gala to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Over 600 people attended the gala, including the group leaders, Dai Liu, Yao Chunhai, Gao Wenwei, Guo Lijuan, Tang Guifa and Tong Yuankai; as well as employees from the headquarters and subsidiary companies. The conference awarded 10 advanced grass-roots party branches, 22 outstanding communist party members and 5 outstanding party affairs workers of the Expo Group.

On June 20, Shanghai World Expo Co., Ltd and Shendi Group Co., Ltd signed a memorandum on the strategic cooperation of human resources. Thus making Shendi Group one of the first batch of cooperative units to provide think-bank support for the development and construction of Shanghai International Tourist Resort.

After at least one month of intense preparations, Promotion Meeting of Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center in Hong Kong was successfully held at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center on June 24. The promotion meeting attracted over 80 exhibitors in Hong Kong.

On June 13th, Shanghai Trade Promotion Co., Ltd. officially signed an agreement with The China Christian Council and China Christian Three-Self Patriotic Movement Committee to become the organiser of the “2011 Bible Ministry Exhibition of the Church in China”. A total of five such exhibitions will be held in four US cities and the main exhibition period will last for one and a half months.

On June 17th, Board Chairman Dai Liu and Vice Presidents Gao Wenwei and Guo Lijuan met with an Ecuadorian senior delegation headed by the vice minister of Ecuador’s Ministry of Investment and Trade. Both sides conducted a friendly communication on cooperation

Shanghai Foreign Service Co., Ltd. (SFSC) and Sha’anxi Yanchang Petroleum Group intend to, after a recent meeting in Xi’an, establish a strategic cooperative partnership in the field of human resources. The group plans to entrust SFSC in 2011 with its human resources dispatch business (including over 10,000 professionals).

Headed by Deputy Director Xiang Yuehua and Deputy Chief Economist Ji Kangwen, a group of eight people from The Shanghai Municipality’s State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) visited Expo Group on June 15th, with the aim mainly to researching and investigating into the China Exposition Convention & Exhibition Complex Project, as well as the business operation and fund use of the Expo Group.

On the afternoon of June 15, Han Zheng, Mayor of Shanghai Municipal Government, toghther with members of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee reviewed the Schematic Design of the China Exposition Convention & Exhibition Complex Project.

SFSC’s subsidiary Hejie Company has just signed a business outsourcing agreement with Fidec Corporation. The former will undertake on behalf of the latter’s head office the digital recording business of local consumption bills in Japan. Having made a successful move from Onshore Outsourcing to Offshore Outsourcing, such business marks the entrance of the SFSC into a new outsourcing service mode.

“The 3rd China Trade in Services Congress” sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and co-sponsored by the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality was held in Beijing between June 1st and 3rd. The Shanghai International Trade Promotion Company was responsible for the design and setting up of the Shanghai exhibition zone.

On June 1st “BIOTECH CHINA 2011”, co-created by The Shanghai Modern International Exhibition Co., Ltd and The Shanghai Modern Biomedicine Industry Office, was grandly held at The Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center. This fair has become an exhibition and communication platform for the bio-tech field.

Organised by The Shanghai International Trade Promotion Company and sponsored by The Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, The Shanghai Municipal Economic and Infomatization Commission, The Science and Technology Commission of The Shanghai Municipality, and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission Of The Shanghai Municipal Government, the “2011 China Technical Equipment & Commodities Fair” was successfully held in Jakarta between May 25th and 28th 53 enterprises were organized to participate in the fair. The exhibition area totaled 3,000 square meters and the number of exhibition booths registered was 78. The actual turnover recorded on site was $6.6 million and the total intended turnover reached $140 million.
